Urad Dal Fritters (Uzhunnuvada)

INGREDIENTS:

Black gram – 1 ½ cups
Green chilly- 2 nos chopped
Ginger-1” chopped
Onion -1/2 cup chopped
Curry leaves - 1 string (chopped)
Crushed  black pepper(optional)
Salt to taste
Oil for frying

Preparation:

Soak the Bengal gram for 5 hrs, grind and make smooth batter. Mix well and then add the above ingredients except oil. Scoop a hand full of batter and shape it to a ball, and make a whole at the center of the batter and drop it into the hot oil (carefully), fry each side until golden color and crispy. Yummy Vadas are ready. Serve with Sambar and coconut chutney.
