Vancho Cake






Ingredients for Vanilla Cake:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup of granulated sugar
1 cup butter
3 eggs
Vanilla essence (optional)
1 tsp. baking powder

Method:
  • Sift together the flour, baking powder and keep it aside.
  • Whisk butter and fined sugar till smooth. Then add eggs beating well after each addition.
  • Add the flour mixture little by little.  Then add vanilla essence and combine.
  • Preheat oven at 180 OC and then bake it for 25 min.
  • Remove it from the oven and cool it to room temperature.
  • Dust it with fine sugar on top and garnish it.
  • Vanilla cake is ready and cut into two layers.


Ingredients for Chocolate Cake:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. dark cocoa powder
1 tsp. vanilla essence
200g butter

For sugar syrup:
½ cup of water
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. brandy
3 cup meringue icing

Method:
  • Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and keep it aside.
  • Whisk oil and fined sugar till smooth. Then add eggs beating well after each addition.
  • Add the flour mixture little by little. Then add vanilla essence and combine.
  • Preheat oven at 180 degrees and then bake it for about 25mts.  Remove from oven and cool to room temperature.
  • Cut the cake into two layers.
     
  1. In a board place one of the layers of vanilla cake and sprinkle sugar syrup and spread the buttercream icing,
  2. Now place one of the layers of chocolate cake and sprinkle sugar syrup.
  3. Repeat this process for the other layers.
  4. Keep the cake in the refrigerator for an hour.
  5. Pour chocolate ganache over the top layer of the cake and decorate it with a chocolate lace wrap.
