Vancho Cake
Ingredients for Vanilla Cake:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup of granulated sugar
1 cup butter
3 eggs
Vanilla essence (optional)
1 tsp. baking powder
Method:
- Sift together the flour, baking powder and keep it aside.
- Whisk butter and fined sugar till smooth. Then add eggs beating well after each addition.
- Add the flour mixture little by little. Then add vanilla essence and combine.
- Preheat oven at 180 OC and then bake it for 25 min.
- Remove it from the oven and cool it to room temperature.
- Dust it with fine sugar on top and garnish it.
- Vanilla cake is ready and cut into two layers.
Ingredients for Chocolate Cake:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. dark cocoa powder
1 tsp. vanilla essence
200g butter
For sugar syrup:
½ cup of water
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. brandy
3 cup meringue icing
Method:
- Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and keep it aside.
- Whisk oil and fined sugar till smooth. Then add eggs beating well after each addition.
- Add the flour mixture little by little. Then add vanilla essence and combine.
- Preheat oven at 180 degrees and then bake it for about 25mts. Remove from oven and cool to room temperature.
- Cut the cake into two layers.
- In a board place one of the layers of vanilla cake and sprinkle sugar syrup and spread the buttercream icing,
- Now place one of the layers of chocolate cake and sprinkle sugar syrup.
- Repeat this process for the other layers.
- Keep the cake in the refrigerator for an hour.
- Pour chocolate ganache over the top layer of the cake and decorate it with a chocolate lace wrap.
