Methi Chicken
Methi(Fenugreek) Chicken

INGREDIENTS:
Chicken
500g
100 ml oil
1medium
size sliced onion
1 medium
size tomato chopped
½tsp black
cumin seed
½ tsp.
turmeric powder
2tsp ginger
garlic paste
1tsp cumin
powder
1 ½ tsp.
coriander powder
1 ½ tsp.
red chilli powder
2tbsp
yoghurt
1cup water
2cups Fresh
methi (fenugreek) leaves
1tsp garam
masala
Salt
PREPARATION
1.
In
a wide bottomed vessel, heat oil on low heat. Then add black cumin seeds and
fry for a few seconds. Then add the sliced onions. Sauté well till the onions
turns golden brown.

Add
ginger garlic paste. Sauté well till the raw smell disappears. Add chicken,
turmeric powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder, chopped tomatoes and salt.
Mix well. Add water.
3.
Cover
and cook for 15 minutes on a low flame. When the chicken is tender and the
gravy starts turning thick. Add whisked yogurt gently mix. Then add chopped
methi leaves.
4.
Lower
the flame and allow cooking uncovered for 5 minutes. Just before turning off
the flame add garam masala. Serve with Rotis and Naans.
